Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2011, Hollycombe is Britain's most varied steam attraction with its mix of unique fairground rides, three railways, and steam road & agricultural engines, all set in acres of woodlands and listed woodland gardens. The Edwardian Fairground is popular with young and old alike, although there are plenty of thills and screams, the rides are more sedate than their modern counterparts. For those who like to look more than participate, a trip on the Quarry Railway with its spectacular views across the Weald are not to be missed. A 1000-acre Country Park with something for everyone - adventure play trail and play areas, tree top walkway, narrow-gauge steam railway, cycle hire centre, waymarked trails, golf centre, hire wire adventure course, restaurant and country shop. Disabled access and facilities including wheelchair and mobility scooter to hire. Hundreds of events for adults and children are organised throughout the year. Finkley Down Farm is the south's premier farm attraction. There are activities all day long for children including Rabbit Handling , Meet the Chicks, Pony Grooming and Calf Feeding. There are so many animals to see from Heavy Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Pigs and Goats down to Turkeys, Guinea Pigs, Tortoises and Chipmunks. Approximately 10 miles from Bournemouth, at the edge of Ringwood Forest, is Moors Valley Country Park. The Park is home to the South’s longest narrow gauge steam railway, Moors Valley Railway. It provides passengers with a ride of one mile, travelling alongside Moors Lake, through tunnels and under a bridge around the children’s play area, and through the Goods yard where you can see the Engine shed, which houses 17 locomotives. There is a model and gift shop and a station buffet, selling NEW FOREST ICE CREAM – something for everyone!
